End of Month 1

Today marks the end of Week 5/Month 1 of Insanity.  I did my fit test again with these results:

Day 1, Day 15, Day 35
Switch Kicks: 85, 100, 116
Power Jacks: 37, 48, 51
Power Knees: 55, 70, 85
Power Jumps: 23, 26, 30
Globe Jumps: 7, 8, 10
Suicide Jumps: 10, 13, 15
Pushup Jacks: 13, 19, 23
Plank Move: 18, 26, 33

Here are the pics of Day 1 and now for comparison:
Not a ton of obvious progress but I am seeing a bit more stomach muscle definition and a little less back fat.

And finally, here are my stats.  I am pretty happy, especially with the change in my waist and hips.  I haven't been 100% on eating clean so that probably hasn't helped but I'm still seeing good results.  I see my arms and legs are tighter and even though I can't see the muscle as much in my waist, I can feel it getting stronger under the extra fat/skin I still need to change :)

Stats (Day 1, end of Week 5)

Weight 133 lbs, 130.5 lbs
Waist 35", 32"
Chest (mid) 36", 35"
thighs (measured at a mole) 22.5", 21.5(L), 21.75 (R)
biceps (arms down) 9.5", 9.25" (R), 9.75" (L) [apparently I've been flexing my left muscles :)
hips 41.25", 40"

Week 2- done

Two weeks in and today was my second fit test to measure progress.  Here are the results

Day 1, Day 15

Switch Kicks: 85, 100
Power Jacks: 37, 48
Power Knees: 55, 70
Power Jumps: 23, 26
Globe Jumps: 7, 8
Suicide Jumps: 10, 13
Pushup Jacks: 13, 19
Plank Move: 17 (35 total), 26(52)

Good to see progress although I still feel as exhausted after a workout as the first day.  :)  I only weighed in at 130.5 today so not much actual weight lost but, even without remeasuring my inches, I can tell by the way my clothes fit that I have lost some there.  The scale is not really your friend when you're replacing fat with muscle as I assume I am so I'm not going to worry about it.

Week 1 down

Started my second week today with Cardio Power & Resistance.  I'm making it through the Cardio pretty well but my arms are still pretty weak.  I did weigh in at 131 this morning so I'm down 2 lbs. from the start which is encouraging.  What's more encouraging is my clothes already fit better.

Emily was up last night from midnight until 4am which made working out this morning rough.  But I did it, that's what's important.  I definitely have to do it first thing in the morning or there is no way it would happen.

Day 5: Pure Cardio

All I can say is Pure Cardio is pure hell.  Wow.  Unlike most of Shaun T's workouts where there are high intensity intervals with a short break in between each this one is a killer warmup, stretch and then 20 minutes straight of Cardio drills.  ugh.  I made it through modifying a few moves and taking a few breaks (but then so did everyone in the video).  Feels good to be done!

Before pics (ugh)

Here they are, the dreaded before pictures and stats.  Technically I took them today on Day 3 but I hope to never see this in the mirror again.

Weight 133 lbs
Waist 35"
Chest (mid) 36"
thighs (measured at a mole) 22.5"
biceps (arms down) 9.5"
hips 41.25"

Day 2

Just finished Plyometric Cardio Circuit.  Ugh, I am really out of shape.  Not that I didn't know that but workouts like this make it pretty obvious.  I made it through, doing less reps and taking a few breaks.  That's the good part about Insanity, you can go at your own pace.  I'm looking forward to a few weeks from now when I feel like I'm back in shape!

Insanity Day 1 (Fit Test)

I finished the Shakeology cleanse and again weighed in at 132 Thursday morning so no change from Day 2 to 3.  Overall 3.5 lbs lost but the elimination of "junk" was the most important thing.  I traveled for work yesterday and ate 75% clean I'd say so today I'm back on track as I officially begin Insanity.

Here are my Day 1 Fit test results from Sept. 2011 right after I finished P90x.  I never completed the program (Insanity) as I think I was too burned out from my P90x Doubles but this time I'm committed).

Switch Kicks: 105
Power Jacks: 52
Power Knees: 80
Power Jumps: 35
Squat Jumps: 9
Suicide Jumps: 14
Pushup Jacks: 20
Plank Move: 22 (44 total)

Here are today's Fit Test results:

Switch Kicks: 85
Power Jacks: 37
Power Knees: 55
Power Jumps: 23
Squat Jumps: 7
Suicide Jumps: 10
Pushup Jacks: 13
Plank Move: 17 (35 total)

Looks like I have a long ways to go.  On a positive note, there's no where to go but up :)
