Week 1 down

Started my second week today with Cardio Power & Resistance.  I'm making it through the Cardio pretty well but my arms are still pretty weak.  I did weigh in at 131 this morning so I'm down 2 lbs. from the start which is encouraging.  What's more encouraging is my clothes already fit better.

Emily was up last night from midnight until 4am which made working out this morning rough.  But I did it, that's what's important.  I definitely have to do it first thing in the morning or there is no way it would happen.

Day 5: Pure Cardio

All I can say is Pure Cardio is pure hell.  Wow.  Unlike most of Shaun T's workouts where there are high intensity intervals with a short break in between each this one is a killer warmup, stretch and then 20 minutes straight of Cardio drills.  ugh.  I made it through modifying a few moves and taking a few breaks (but then so did everyone in the video).  Feels good to be done!

Day 2

Just finished Plyometric Cardio Circuit.  Ugh, I am really out of shape.  Not that I didn't know that but workouts like this make it pretty obvious.  I made it through, doing less reps and taking a few breaks.  That's the good part about Insanity, you can go at your own pace.  I'm looking forward to a few weeks from now when I feel like I'm back in shape!

Insanity Day 1 (Fit Test)

I finished the Shakeology cleanse and again weighed in at 132 Thursday morning so no change from Day 2 to 3.  Overall 3.5 lbs lost but the elimination of "junk" was the most important thing.  I traveled for work yesterday and ate 75% clean I'd say so today I'm back on track as I officially begin Insanity.

Here are my Day 1 Fit test results from Sept. 2011 right after I finished P90x.  I never completed the program (Insanity) as I think I was too burned out from my P90x Doubles but this time I'm committed).

Switch Kicks: 105
Power Jacks: 52
Power Knees: 80
Power Jumps: 35
Squat Jumps: 9
Suicide Jumps: 14
Pushup Jacks: 20
Plank Move: 22 (44 total)

Here are today's Fit Test results:

Switch Kicks: 85
Power Jacks: 37
Power Knees: 55
Power Jumps: 23
Squat Jumps: 7
Suicide Jumps: 10
Pushup Jacks: 13
Plank Move: 17 (35 total)

Looks like I have a long ways to go.  On a positive note, there's no where to go but up :)

Shakeology Cleanse Day 3 (last one!)

Day 2 of the cleanse was pretty good.  The headache was pretty much gone and I wasn't as hungry, especially at night.  I had to almost force myself to eat the chicken and didn't have too much salad.

This morning my weight was 132 so 3.5 pounds so far.  Not sure that will actually stay off once I go back to eating normally again but we'll see.  I plan to finish out today with the same shakes/snacks/dinner as the last two days and then I am traveling tomorrow so am going to try very hard to eat clean all day.  Then Insanity starts Friday :)

Shakeology Cleanse Day 2

I made it through Day 1.  Felt pretty good all day until just after dinner when the headache started.  I drank more water to try to get rid of it but it lingered most of the night and was still there a bit this morning.  That's what I get for my 5 Diet Cokes a day habit recently.  I was semi-hungry most of the day but not starving.  I guess that made it manageable.

I weighed in at 134.5 this morning.  Not too significant but I also didn't cut my calories that drastically for fear that my milk supply might be affected.  I didn't work out yesterday but did walk on the treadmill for 75 minutes while working.  Regardless of what I do to prepare, Insanity is going to be a shock to my system :)

Hopefully Day 2 of the cleanse will go smoothly.

Starting Again: Shakeology 3-day Cleanse

Emily is 12 weeks old today so despite the fact that I've been walking a little on my new treadmill and have even done a fitness DVD here and there, I have really done nothing to get myself back into shape post-baby.  That all changes today.

Today I'm starting the 3-day Shakeology Cleanse to prepare myself for my first official round of Insanity (starting Friday with the Fit Test).  I don't travel until Thursday this week so that gives me 3 full days at home to cleanse and only one day of travel to deal with as I get myself back into Clean Eating and intense workouts.  I am modifying the cleanse slightly since I am nursing and want to ensure I'm getting enough calories.  Here's what Day 1 will look like:

7a: Green Tea
8a: Shakeology with water, ice and banana
10a: apple
11:30a: Shakeogoloy with water, ice, raspberries
1p: apple or pear and Green Tea
4p: Shakeology with water, ice, natural PB and banana
6p: salad with grilled chicken, cucumbers, vinegarette,
8p: snack if I'm starving of fruit or nuts
lots of H20

I weighed in at 135.5 this morning so we'll see how it goes.  Not expecting miracles since I'm trying to keep my calories up but this should at least cleanse out all the crap I've been eating for the past year and get me back on track to eat well over the next 60 days of Insanity.
